چکیده

mA new simple and computationally efficient approach to image segmentation via recursive region splitting and merging is presented. Unlike other techniques the criterion for splitting is based on a generalization of a two-class gradient relaxation method and merging uses a test for mean gray level equivalency for adjacent regions. The technique is illustrated by providing results for both synthetic and natural scenes. Plant Classification in Images of Natural Scenes Using Segmentations Fusion

This paper presents a novel approach to automatic classifying and identifying of tree leaves using image segmentation fusion. With the development of mobile devices and remote access, automatic plant identification in images taken in natural scenes has received much attention. Image segmentation plays a key role in most plant identification methods, especially in complex background images. Wher...

Segmentation Framework for Multi-Oriented Text Detection and Recognition

Here in this paper a new and efficient technique for the text detection from natural scenes is implemented. The proposed methodology is based on the concept of Otsu’s segmentation method which segments the higher intensity texts from the natural scenes. Although there are various text detection techniques implemented, but the proposed methodology implemented here for text detection provides hig...

Shared Segmentation of Natural Scenes Using Dependent Pitman-Yor Processes

We develop a statistical framework for the simultaneous, unsupervised segmentation and discovery of visual object categories from image databases. Examining a large set of manually segmented scenes, we show that object frequencies and segment sizes both follow power law distributions, which are well modeled by the Pitman–Yor (PY) process. This nonparametric prior distribution leads to learning ...

Surface segmentation based on the luminance and color statistics of natural scenes.

The luminance and color of surfaces in natural scenes are relatively independent under certain linear transformations, with the luminance of a surface providing little information about the color of that surface, and vice versa. However, differences in luminance between two locations in a natural scene remain strongly associated with differences in color. We used the statistics of the spatiochr...

A multi-scale convolutional neural network for automatic cloud and cloud shadow detection from Gaofen-1 images

The reconstruction of the information contaminated by cloud and cloud shadow is an important step in pre-processing of high-resolution satellite images. The cloud and cloud shadow automatic segmentation could be the first step in the process of reconstructing the information contaminated by cloud and cloud shadow. This stage is a remarkable challenge due to the relatively inefficient performanc...
